Emergency Housing

Every year PPEHRC houses over a hundred people in need of emergency housing who are turned away from formal shelters and homeless service providers. These people are often single-parent families, survivors of domestic violence, and those who have lost their homes through fire, eviction, foreclosure – and more recently due to natural disasters (including Puerto Rican evacuees). As we identify permanent housing solutions, we first locate emergency housing for them in our living and guest rooms, couches, places of worship, community centers, and empty homes. Given the ever-growing need for emergency shelter, we are building our network of available housing options through this sign-up sheet. Please fill it out even if you cannot currently house people yourself. We are asking you to identify if you have any extra space, resources, and/or can donate today to help us sustain this work!

Please become a part of the Poor People’s Economic Human Rights Campaign’s underground railroad for the homeless today!
