One of our comrades, brother Q Muhammad, a PPEHRC member and Green Party member, was blessed to go to the 50th Anniversary of the Bloody Sunday in Selma Alabama and continue activist work for the upcoming US Social Forum. He went to workshops, he met Mike Brown’s father (Mike Brown was the young man who was killed in Ferguson, Missouri), he met Eric Gardner’s Mother (Eric Gardner was the man killed by the police in the illegal chokehold who screamed 11 times “I Can’t Breathe”), met original foot soldiers who were people who were beat at the bridge on Bloody Sunday (Obama just awarded all of them for the Freedom Award). The highlight of the trip was talking to Dr. Diane Nash who was a major organizer in the Civil Rights Movement and the Voting Rights Act and still holds the torch high today.
