Poor People's Economic Human Rights Delegation at the CIW's Boycott Victory Rally

On March 11-12 PPEHRC celebrated the success of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' Taco Bell Boycott by sending a large delegation to participate in the "Our World, Our Rights," conference and the victory rally on the following day. The CIW has been a part of the PPEHRC for many years and we are very proud of their important work and their huge success.

"Our World, Our Rights!" Conference:
The day began with Lucas Benitez and Gerardo Reyes of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers giving the audience a history of their struggle.
Debra Frazier (in pink) of Friends & Residents of Arthur Capper and Carrollsburg in DC, and Cheri Honkala (to her left), National Coordinator of the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, present on a panel called "Human Rights Strategies."
Jennifer Jewell (left) of Women in Transition in Louisville, Kentucky, and Gerardo Reyes help lead a workshop on "The Otherness of Poverty." Jesse Vear of Portland Organizing to Win Economic Rights in Maine tells her story in one of the workshops.
On the following day we went to the RALLY! The Philadelphia delegation from KWRU proudly wears their Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign t-shirts.
