Maria Venellaz is 36 years old. Maria’s family does not have health insurance. Currently Maria is pregnant. She would like to work, but she cannot right now. Before being pregnant Maria did work but she never earned more than $7 dollars an hour, which is not a living wage. In addition, she is never given full time employment, only part-time work. Maria also mentions that her family members would like to go to a university to further their education. They, however, cannot afford the high cost of getting an education. If Maria Venellaz and her family’s right to an education and/or to a living wage job were being fulfilled she would not have to go without. Unfortunately this is not the case.
